Lotus Temple is one of the remarkable architectures of Bahai faith. It is located at Kalkaji in New Delhi. The temple looks like a lotus flower and is made of marble, cement, dolomite and sand. The temple has no restrictions for visitors and is open to people from all religions. The place provides immaculate environment for meditation, peace and wisdom. The Bahai temple was completed in 1986. Since then the temple has received recognition from all over the world for its splendid architecture and design. Lotus Temple is among the most visited monuments in India. The credit for building this beautiful structure goes to the Persian architect Fariborz Sahba from Canada.

Delhi is all about Mughal architecture and the remains of this very effervescent history shows the glory of Mughal Empire in India. Humayun's tomb is one of the remarkable structures of the Mughal Empire in India. The monument is surrounded my many new buildings but still the structure has the importance of its own and sill can be seen upright and bright. Just close to the monument, there is the shrine of Nizamuddin which is very sacred among Muslims. Humayun's tomb was built in 1565 A.D by Hamida Banu Begum (Humayun's widow).

Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, nestled on the magnificent Raisina Hill, was built as the residence of the Viceroy during the British rule.The first occupant of the palatial building with 340 rooms was Lord Irwin. Designed again by Lutyens, it has a large court and a garden which is open to the public for a short while in February when the flowers are in full bloom. The garden is terraced and resembles the Mughal Gardens in Srinagar, Kashmir.

4 km away from Janpath to the N-East of Feroz Shah near Delhi Gate at Ring Rd on the bank of Jamuna situated Rajghat. Jawaharlal Nehru Rd also ends opp. Rajghat. On 31st Jan. 1948, Mahatma Gandhi's last rites was performed here. The memorial stone of Gandhi is square in shape made of black stone. His last ward- 'Hey Ram' is inscribed on it.

Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India. Located in Old Delhi, the mosque has the capacity to accommodate 25000 devotees. Jama Masjid was completed in 1656 AD and it was again the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan behind this architectural masterpiece. Close to some 5000 craftsmen were involved in the construction of the msque. It is located in Old Delhi, just opposite to the famous Lal Quila or the Red Fort.

This museum was the former residence of Indira Gandhi at 1 Safdarjang Rd. It displays some of her personal effects, including the sari she was wearing at the time of her assassination. A crystal plaque in the garden, flanked constantly by two soldiers, protects a few brown spots of Mrs Gandhi's blood on the spot where she actually fell after being shot by two of her bodyguards in December 1984.

he Birla Temple is the popular name for the Laxmi Narayan Temple in Delhi. It was built by BD Birla. One of the major tourist attractions in the city the Birla Temple holds immense historical significance. Dedicated to Laxmi (goddess of wealth) and Shiv (the preserver) this temple is frequented by tourist and locals throughout the year. The temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi with the belief that it should be open to all castes and all faiths which included the untouchables. A temple that welcomes everyone with open arms the Birla Temple in Delhi has been humanity since times immemorial.

Akshardham Temple in Delhi has an important place in Delhi's tourism. The structure depicts great Indian culture and its architecture is simply immaculate. The temple is located at NH 24, Noida Mor, New Delhi. This amazing structure comprises of 20,000 statues, floral motifs and exquisite carved pillars made of stones.

Qutub Minar is the pride of Delhi. The tall minaret was constructed in 1192 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak, and later completed by his successor Iltutmish. The soaring conical tower is an exquisite example of Indo-Islamic Afghan architecture. Qutub Minar is a World Heritage Site and has survived the ravages of time impressively. The Minar of Delhi is surrounded by a lush green garden, which is an ideal leisurely place for visitors. Qutab Minar is the favourite destination of tourists. It is India's most visited monument attracting around 3.9 million visitors every year.
